Rust

Rust is a warm metal finish with orange-brown depth, darker aged markings, and a textured surface character. It gives architectural elements the look of rusted metal, but in this page it is treated as a controlled finish appearance rather than a promise of uncontrolled material change.

The finish is warmer and slightly lighter than the Corten Steel finish planned as a separate finish page. Rust has more orange and brown movement, with dark marks that give the surface an aged, industrial, and crafted character without becoming a polished or glossy metal surface.

Before production, the finish should be reviewed through the finish catalogue, Modulux digital catalogue, or an ordered sample when the project requires one. Tone range, texture, sheen, protection, touch level, cleaning expectations, and project lighting should be considered together.

Rust

Rust works well when an architectural element needs a warm industrial metal character and a strong sense of material presence. It can be considered for feature wall panels, reception counters, lobby details, doors, frames, trims, furniture pieces, selected fronts, and decorative panels where the finish is meant to feel bold, earthy, and distinctive.

This finish is strongest where the project wants a surface that feels aged, tactile, and visually grounded. In a lobby, reception area, feature wall, built-in furniture piece, or custom metal detail, Rust can create a clear focal point with warmth, depth, and a raw architectural character.

To review Rust for a project, send the element type, intended use, dimensions, lighting conditions, and preferred finish reference. Modulux can review whether this warm rust finish is the right choice for the surface.
